Through these behaviors, we live out our mission every day. The Prairie CARE Award was created to recognize colleagues each month who are consistently exhibiting these behaviors to all with whom they come into contact. Winners will receive $50 credit to the Prairie store, a certificate and recognition from senior leadership. Their profiles are also featured below.
Featured Physician of the Month – August 2020
Holly A. Novak, MD, Cardiology
Congratulations to Holly A. Novak, MD, our August 2020 Featured Physician of the Month. Dr. Novak has been serving the patients at Prairie for more than 18 years. As a cardiologist, Dr. Novak focuses on educating her patients about how to reduce their risk of heart disease. Her goal is to develop a strong prevention program with an emphasis on women’s cardiovascular health.
Dr. Novak practices at HSHS Medical Group Multispecialty Care at 2901 Old Jacksonville Road in Springfield.
Dr. Novak’s patients appreciate her compassionate grace combined with her comprehensive skills and experience.

Featured Colleague of the Month – August 2020
Nova Lee, Physician Practice Manager
We’re honored to recognize Nova Lee, the Physician Practice Manager at our Decatur locations at HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital and the Decatur North clinic. Nova’s leadership and skills have benefitted Prairie for 21 years. Her team has received the Patients’ Choice Awards for “Best Location” in honor of receiving the highest scores in patient experience surveys in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Nova excels in her ability to listen and care for her colleagues and patients. In our current ever-changing workplace environment, Nova is a flexible problem solver. Her outstanding leadership empowers her team to give the very best care to our patients each and every day!

Outside of Prairie, Nova enjoys spending time with her husband and two teenage sons, working in the garden, playing the piano and enjoying the simple side of life.
