Enjoy Your Legs Again

Whether your concerns are purely cosmetic or you have tired, aching legs related to the unsightly veins in your legs, the Prairie Vein Clinic is the premier location for comprehensive evaluation and treatment.

The venous disease specialists at the Prairie Vein Clinic can evaluate and treat the veins that keep you from showing off your legs. Our physicians, who are board-certified in vascular medicine, cardiology, and vascular surgery, provide state-of-the-art treatments for venous disease. Each physician has trained to provide quality, comprehensive treatments for your venous disease to help achieve your goal of healthy legs.

We realize you may have other options for the treatment of your veins, but none offer the breadth of services in a single location that the doctors of Prairie can provide.

What Causes Varicose Veins?

In normal veins, tiny one-way valves direct the flow of blood. In some people—due to family history, pregnancy, or other risk factors, or even a job that requires them to be on their feet—these veins may malfunction. When they do, blood leaks backward where it pools and pressure builds. Weakened and damaged by this process, the veins become enlarged, twisted, and rope-like—visible near the surface most commonly in the legs and ankles.

Varicose Vein Treatments

The physicians at the Prairie Vein Clinic provide comprehensive treatments for managing venous disease. These include:

Compression therapy

Sclerotherapy

Ablation of the saphenous vein or its branches

Varithena(R)

Ambulatory phlebectomy

Your physician will discuss these options with you to develop a targeted plan to address your concerns and restore your quality of life.

What to Expect at Your Visit

Once you schedule an appointment to see one of our venous disease specialists, you can expect compassionate care. During your appointment, you will meet your physician and together you will review your symptoms, any prior vein treatments you may have had, and your goals for treatment.

The physician will carefully and thoroughly examine your legs. You may need an ultrasound to assess which veins are working properly and which aren’t. Based on this information, your physician will develop a comprehensive treatment plan designed just for you.

Before you begin any treatments, all procedures will be pre-certified with your insurance company as many of these treatments are covered under most insurance plans.
